We just got this blender yesterday and made our protein shake breakfast this morning. No straining motor sound as with the other one. We make it with water, powder, frozen fruit and ice - we like a nice, thick smoothie type of shake. I put everything in the blender, pushed power and the smoothie button and was amazed at how quiet the machine is. It blended and pulsed away for the alloted amount of time and out came a beautiful, completely blended shake. One use down, many, many more to go.we love it so far.
So I was out about $200. It started heating up the motor when I wanted crushed ice and didn't do a very good job.
Without question - the best blender I've ever bought. I bought this blender about 2 months ago and use it almost everyday for my protein shakes.
I had a Cruisinart blender that lasted a year and that was with minimal use at the time. You'll pay a little more for this but it's well worth it.
Of course I got it cheaper on Amazon. Like a fool - I bought another one thinking I must have had a lemon - no - this one did the same thing.
I think I paid around $150 for the Brevelle but like I said - worth every penney.
I love the way this blends/crushes frozen fruit/etc. so smoothly and quickly, but hate the cleanup of the leaky mess. So disappointing - will be perfect when they fix this major design flaw.
Have you ever heard of a blender that comes with a cheezy contraption JUST to loosen the blade every time. If you manage to get the bottom of this unit off which you surely must do each and every time because everything that you make in it will definitely get stuck between the parts Good luck getting it back together. And if you do get it back together good luck tightening it just right so that all of your liquid doesn't spill out next time you use it which it will because you CANT tighten it JUST right. This the second one of these blenders that I have owned, I thought the first was an anomaly but I was wrong. Bad blender straight up BAD
Whats Good: Wonderful blending. If you use this regularly for this type of blending this is worth the cost.Wha's Not: It leaks unless tightened well. If you make soothies or frozen drinks this is a great blender. Put in your ingredients press the button and it takes care of the rest. Don't buy this if you don't have a strong grip, you will not get it tight enough. (They give you a tool to remove the assembly) This appears to be a design issue.
